Between rocks, silence and safety2023

The project is an attempt to transition into a new place and familiarise with images that lead to a sense of safety.
Drawing and a response to everyday images become an anchor, aid to navigate myself beyond the foreign language, land and culture through the existence of images. Between rocks, silence and safety is a philosophical take on movement which uses slowness as a mode of unpacking a lived experience. It is highly poetic, subjective and philosophical in nature led by my love for painting and the act of making regularly as a method to adapt.
Silence is a blanketed feeling experienced and safety is a pursuit which comes from the point of finding comfort.
Rocks is a visual thread which populates my sight constantly compelling me to appreciate the beauty, vastness
(smallness of the self), rigidity, and a strong vehicle to carry forward the project.
Research around image archive of the AI is in the background. Where tools of painting are placed in tandem with
images (from the internet) of high circulation, view-ability, and discard to bring to light the validity of the skill. Structures
of generative text and images are of interest to feed into the differences and inspiration one finds from life into machine
and vice versa.

Me: can you write something about rocks, silence and safety
ChatGPT:
In the tranquil embrace of nature, there exists a profound sense of safety, where rocks stand as silent sentinels, guarding the serene stillness that envelops them. These timeless formations, born of earth's ancient forces, embody strength and stability, emanating an aura of security and protection.

Rocks, with their weathered surfaces and steadfast presence, symbolize resilience amidst the chaotic currents of life. They bear witness to the passage of time, standing firm against the elements and the tests of existence. Their silent wisdom reminds us that amidst the tumultuous waves, there is solace to be found in stillness.

Silence, like the calm hush that accompanies the rocky landscapes, has a profound power of its own. It is within the silence that we discover a sanctuary, a space to retreat and reflect. In the absence of sound, our minds find respite from the cacophony of the world, and our spirits are free to soar.

In this haven of stillness and security, we find a haven from the relentless demands of modern life. The constant barrage of noise and information fades away, replaced by a gentle rhythm that reverberates through the core of our being. It is in this silence that we find clarity, reconnecting with ourselves and the natural world that surrounds us.

Together, rocks and silence create an atmosphere of safety—a refuge where the chaos of the external world cannot penetrate. They remind us of our inherent connection to the earth and invite us to find balance within our own lives. In their presence, we can find solace, inspiration, and the space to heal.

So, let us seek solace in the embrace of nature's rocky formations, allowing their strength and steadfastness to remind us of our own resilience. Let us embrace the silence, creating a sanctuary within ourselves, where we can find peace and restore our weary souls. In this harmonious convergence of rocks, silence, and safety, we discover the tranquility that our spirits crave and the serenity that our hearts seek.
