The WallMixed Media on Canson Paper
5 ft x 18 ft (in two parts)
2019

The wall was part of my graduation project as a large scale mixed media work aimed at replicating the wall on which it
was displayed. It is sized according to the wall that I referred from. Fabricating play with the idea of a wall on a wall; in
a way making it interactive for the viewer to be in an illusion about its very existence.
The aim was to slow down time, bring focus on something that we see constantly, highlighting what is already existing. Focused on the everyday imagery, I witnessed the wall and it’s marks as a part of my sight.
The effects of time, are traced by taking a backwards journey in documenting it.
There is a constant questioning of what is significant and not significant, and to feed that idea the work exists. The wall
did prevail in that form and as I drew it I could lock that moment of being of the wall. It is a way to tap into the transient way of functioning. In capturing the banality of the wall, I focused on spontaneously living in the moment, which took
away the regularity of the everyday.
